Prairie Rose School Division encompasses a large geographical area (approximately 29,117 sq. kilometers) in southeastern Alberta. It borders Saskatchewan to the East and the United States to the South. The Division aims to carry out its day-to-day operations with three goals in mind.

1. To improve instruction and learning opportunities for students and adults
2. To increase leadership capacity
3. To build positive relationships

The Division serves a predominantly rural population of approximately 3,250 students in grades Junior Kindergarten through 12. A Board of 8 trustees operates 17 Public Schools, 1 Outreach School and 15 Hutterite Colony Schools.

The major thrust of the division continues to be the maximization of student learning. This has resulted in consistently high performance on both the Diploma and Achievement tests. The number of students achieving at both the Acceptable and Excellence levels is consistently in the top percentiles across the Province.

All Prairie Rose schools are linked by videoconferencing which provides access to expertise and courses not otherwise available. Technology is used extensively throughout the Division. Emphasis is also placed on athletics and fine arts activities in all schools.
