Most of the students who come to the district are placed at Medicine Hat High School www.mhhs.ca which offers a wide variety of classes and programs to choose from. Math is offered at the AP level as well as high academic workloads in all other cores. An exceptional Fine Arts and Second Language program as well as a strong athletic background. The school offers the Registered Apprentice Program in its Trades Programs.

Location
Medicine Hat is three hours from Calgary by car or 50 minutes by air with a population of 65,000. It boasts the most hours of sunlight of any city in Canada. Winters are warmed by southwest winds known as Chinooks.
An intermediate ski hill is 40 minutes away and Banff National Park is 4 hours away. Recreation facilities include many swimming pools, indoor skating/ hockey rinks, a YM/YWCA, indoor and outdoor soccer fields, and 80 kilometres of bike and walking paths.
Excellent public bus transportation system for easy access throughout the city.
Medicine Hat College offers one and two year diploma programs and some 4 year bachelor degree programs. Medicine Hat College can easily be accessed.
Accommodation
Homestays are provided with an application for services. This can be found on the school district website under Homestay at www.sd76.ab.ca .These are done through the International Coordinator. Students are provided a home with a Canadian family. Student requests are taken into consideration when we choose a suitable homestay. Bussing is provided from the homestay to the school the student is attending.
Activities
The High Schools have some of the strongest Extra Curricular clubs . students are encouraged to join.
