The Halton District School Board includes the municipalities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville in southern Ontario. The board has a growing population of 52,300 students our 81 elementary schools and 15 high schools offer a curriculum of academic and elective subjects.

Math, Sciences, English, Social Studies, History and a choice of foreign languages including French, German and Spanish are standard academic courses. Elective course – Business Education which includes Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Marketing; Computer Science which includes Computer Animation, Web Design, Robotics; Drama, Art, Music, Home Economics and Technical education are offered. We have schools that also offer the IB Program (International Baccalaureate Program). Historic buildings combined with state-of-the art equipment and facilities provide excellent learning environments for students.

Location

The Halton District School Board is comprised of 5 cities – Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown and Acton. They are located midway between Toronto and Niagara Falls, in the province of Ontario. Burlington and Oakville are located on a beautiful waterfront setting on Lake Ontario, and includes the Niagara Escarpment. There are fewer than 5% ESL students in our schools, offering a complete immersion experience for International Students seeking a true Canadian experience.

Activities

International students are encouraged to participate fully in their school. Schools may offer Drama Club, Music Club, Computer Club. Students may also participate in school sport teams; which include Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby, Golf, Cross Country Running, Swimming, Wrestling and Track and Field. Students may compete to join sports teams.

Entrance Dates: September entrance for full year students. September and February for semester students.

Application Deadlines: Recommended May 31 for September intake. Recommended November 30 for January/February intake.

Application Fee: $325

Full Year Tuition Fee: Grade 1 – 8 $12,000.00 Grade 9 – 12 $13,000.00

1 Semester Tuition Fee: Secondary School (one semester) - $6,500.00 Grade 1 – 8 Sept. – Jan.; Feb. – June - $6,000.00

Annual Homestay Placement Fee: Halton District School Board does not provide Homestay

Homestay Monthly Fee: Halton District School Board does not provide Homestay

Annual Health Insurance Fee: Halton District School Board does not provide Health Insurance
