District School Board of Niagara

The District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) provides high-quality public education from K-12. International students may attend secondary school to earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma in preparation for post-secondary or may attend at the elementary grades to gain cultural experience and improve English proficiency. Students attending our schools will have access to specialized English as a Second Language services and will benefit greatly and rapidly from being in schools where there is a high percentage of native English-speaking students in each classroom and in the Niagara community as a whole.
The DSBN is about student success for every student. This commitment is reflected in our daily practices and in our motto, “Achieving Success Together.” DSBN students consistently perform on academic math and literacy at or above the Ontario Provincial average. A high percentage of International students graduating from the DSBN go on to attend reputable universities in Ontario, throughout Canada, and worldwide.
The Niagara Region is home to one of the Seven Forgotten Natural Wonders of the World, Niagara Falls Canada, which draws people from around the globe to witness its beauty and to access the many historical, cultural, and recreational opportunities. Being located in the most southern part of Ontario, the Niagara Region's climate is more moderate year round than in some others parts of Ontario and is conveniently located a short 1.5 hour drive from the world class city of Toronto where many international students may have family members residing.
International students attending the DSBN are accommodated in homestays with well-screened and caring Canadian families which are arranged and supervised by experienced and profesional homestay organizations in the Niagara Region.
