Abbotsford School District
Our award winning public schools and teachers have hosted international students for many years. Students receive expert ESL instruction while preparing to graduate from high school and enter universities across Canada, the US and around the world. We teach academic, technology, arts and ESL courses in modern facilities using the latest equipment and methods. We offer IB, AP and a wide range of elective courses, including golf, hockey, baseball and soccer academies. Students can enjoy taking part in our many clubs and recreation activities. We are proud of our unmatched student support – in addition to supportive school staff we have 7 International Assistants who speak a variety of languages, and who are in constant communication with students, teachers and homestay families.

We run our own high quality homestay program, where we guarantee one student with one family. Families encourage students to participate in real Canadian life and language. Younger students are welcome to live with a parent while studying with us.
No matter what your interests are, we have something for you! Either within the District or within the community, Abbotsford has a wide variety of clubs, teams, activities and excursions for students to join. These can include day trips to Vancouver and the surrounding region, ski trips, concerts, festivals or cultural events. Students can demonstrate their talents through skills or performance competitions, theatre productions and art shows. It is important for students to be physically active, and within the community it is easy for students to participate in martial arts, dance, mountain biking, tennis, golf, aquatics, baseball, volleyball, horseback riding – we even have the provinces top BMX and waterski facilities.
